Entokuin(圓徳院) is where Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s wife Kitamasasho (Nene) lived for 19 years from the age of 58 until her death at 77.
Across the Nenomichi path, stone steps lead up to Kodaiji Temple. There is also a special set viewing ticket for Entokuin and Kodaiji Temple.
A stone-paved alley called Ishibe Koji (the alley behind Entokuin Temple), which can be accessed from the middle of Nenomichi, is a hidden path that is hardly noticed.
To get to Entokuin from Kyoto Station, it takes about 13 minutes by bus, and about 5 minutes on foot from the bus stop.
