Shinnyodo(真如堂) is a Tendai sect temple with a standing statue of Amida Nyorai as its principal image, and its official name is Reishozan Shinshogokurakuji.
Shinnyodo is especially beneficial to women. The principal image of Amida Nyorai is said to have nodded three times when he said, “I would like you to save women in the capital of Kyoto.
There is a “Nirvana Garden” with the three-story pagoda and the Higashiyama mountain range in the background.Shinnyodo is famous for its cherry blossoms and autumn leaves.
To get to Shinnyodo from Kyoto Station, take a 27-minute bus ride and a 7-minute walk from the bus stop.
