Shoden Eigenin(正伝永源院) is the Tatchu (temple on the grounds of a large temple) of Kenninji temple, where Shodenin and Eigenan are combined into one.
There used to be a tea house (national treasure) called Joan, completed by Oda Urakusai.Currently, Jyoan is located in Yurakuen, Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture.1996, the tea ceremony house “Jyoan” was restored in this temple.
Shoden Eigenin is usually closed to the public, but is open to the public on special occasions in spring and fall.
To get to Shoden Eigenin from Kyoto Station, take a bus for about 13 minutes. From the Higashiyama Yasui bus stop, it is approximately a 5-minute walk.
