Shoseien(渉成園) takes its name from a poem by Chinese poet Tao Yuanming.
It is planted as a hedge and is also called trifoliate orange (kikokutei) because of its trifoliate orange (kara-tachi).
In the past, the garden had a borrowed view of the mountain, but the mountain is hardly visible because of the tall buildings in the vicinity.
It takes about 13 minutes from Kyoto Station to Shoseien on foot (about 1 km).
