Daiunin(大雲院) is usually private.Only special openings or advance reservations are allowed.In addition to the monument to Oda Nobunaga and Nobutada, there is the grave of Ishikawa Goemon.
Ishikawa Goemon was a bandit of the Azuchi-Momoyama period (ca. 1594).He was captured in Bunroku 3 and roasted to death along with one of his children at Sanjo-kawara, Kyoto.
Gionkaku was built in the shape of the Gion Festival floats, from which one can enjoy a panoramic view of Kyoto City.
Gionkaku was built to create a new bronze pavilion, as Kinkakuji Temple has a Golden Pavilion and Ginkakuji Temple has a Silver Pavilion.
