Jishu Shrine(地主神社) is famous as a shrine for matchmaking and romantic fulfillment, and is always crowded with couples and women worshippers.It is located in the precincts of Kiyomizudera Temple.
There is a pair of stones called “Koi no Fortune Telling Stones. It is said that if you close your eyes and walk from one stone to another, your love will be fulfilled. If you reach the stone with someone’s guidance (advice), it implies that you need someone’s help.
Jishu-zakura (Mikuruma-zakura) is a very rare cherry tree with both double and single blossoms at the same time, and is the only one existing in Japan.
To get to Jishu Shrine from Kyoto Station, take a 15-minute bus ride and a 16-minute walk from the bus stop.
