Zuihoin(瑞峯院) is the Tatchu (temple on the grounds of a large temple) of Daitokuji Temple.It was founded in 1535 by the Christian feudal lord Otomo Sorin, under the leadership of Zen master Tesshu Sokyu.
Hojo, built in 1535, is the remains of the Zen sect Hojo architecture and is designated as an important cultural property.The name of the temple derives from the commandment name of Otomo Sorin.
Dokuzatei (Hojo-mae Garden) is a Horaiyama-style karesansui (dry landscape garden) with a rough representation of the sea.In the Kanmin Garden (Garden of the Cross), a cross is hidden in honor of the Christian feudal lord Otomo Sorin.Four vertical and three horizontal stones are crisscrossed in white sand.
Access to Zuihoin from Kyoto Station takes about 35 minutes by bus.
