Bishamondo(毘沙門堂) was originally founded by merging three temples. The main deity is Bishamonten.
Bishamonten is believed to bring good luck for prosperous business, family safety, and to ward off evil spirits, and a lucky bamboo branch will be awarded at the “Hatsu-tora mairi” in January.
Bishamondo precincts have a “Bansuien” (peaceful garden). There are moving fusuma-e (sliding door paintings) that make use of optical illusions. It is famous for “Bishamon Shidare,” a weeping cherry tree more than a hundred years old.
