Entsuji Temple

Entsuji Temple（円通寺） is a temple of the Myoshinji school of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism, and its principal deity is the Bodhisattva Sho-Kannon.

Entsuji’s karesansui (dry landscape) garden features about 40 small and large stones and a borrowed view of Mount Hiei.The garden with a magnificent view of Mt. Hiei beyond is designated as a national place of scenic beauty.

Flowers and plants can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons: spring (camellias, azaleas, and satsuki), summer (sarsaparilla and lotus), fall (sasanqua, kumquatsum, and autumn leaves), and winter (nanten, senryo, and waxwings).
