The Kyoto National Museum(京都国立博物館) has a collection of more than 10,000 items.
The main gate (important cultural property) is flanked by A. Rodin’s Thinker, and behind it is the Baroque-style Meiji Ancient Capital Building, which is used for special exhibitions.
The Heisei Chishinkan (Ordinary Exhibition Hall) displays mainly items from the museum collection and has a restaurant. The café can be used without an admission ticket.
Access to Kyoto National Museum from Kyoto Station is by bus, which takes about 7 minutes.
