Yogenin(養源院) was once destroyed by fire, but was rebuilt by transferring the remains of Fushimi Castle.
The ceiling of Yogenin has a “blood ceiling” with traces of the blood of Tokugawa family vassal Mototada Torii and his generals who committed suicide at Fushimi Castle, and it is said that the wooden floor where they committed suicide was used as a ceiling to mourn their souls.
You can see “Sugido-e by Sotatsu Tawaraya” painted for the memorial service for the samurai, “Fusuma-e by Kano Sangaku” located among the peonies at Hideyoshi’s Gakumonsho, and “Uguisu-Roka” created by Jingoro Hidari.
Access to Yogenin from Kyoto Station is by bus, which takes about 7 minutes.
