Ryosokuin(両足院) is one of the Tatchu (temple on the grounds of a large temple) of Kenninji Temple.Originally called “Chisokuin”, it was destroyed by fire in 1552 and later rebuilt and renamed Ryosokuin.
There is a garden with a pond and a surrounding “Suigetsu-tei” which is a copy of Oda Yurakusai’s teahouse “Nyoan”.
Ryosokuin Temple is usually closed to the public, but is open to the public on a special seasonal basis. A zazen experience is available by reservation.
To get to Ryosokuin from Kyoto Station, take a 13-minute bus ride and a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
