Daihoonji Temple(大報恩寺) is more often called Senbon Shakado, which derives from the fact that the east side of the temple site used to be located on Senbon Street.
The main hall (National Treasure) is the oldest Buddhist temple structure in Kyoto City, retaining the early Kamakura period remains of the inner and outer compartments. The pillars inside the main hall retain scars from sword spears.
On February 3, the famous Okame Setsubun Festival, in which Okame admonishes ogres and converts them, is held.
