It is said that Seimei Shrine(晴明神社) was founded by order of Emperor Ichijo to worship Abe no Seimei at the site of his former residence.
There are two famous legends about Ichijo-Moribashi Bridge: one is that a child who encountered his father’s funeral procession near the bridge temporarily reunited with his father who had come back to life. The other legend tells that Tsuna Watanabe, a Samurai Warrior cut off the arm of a demoness disguised as a beautiful woman with his famous sword, Higekirimaru.
In recent years, many young people visit the shrine due to the Yin-Yang boom. Every September, the Seimei Festival is held for two days, one day before the autumnal equinox and the other on the autumnal equinox day.
