Koumyouin(光明院) is a Tatchu (temple on the grounds of a large temple) of Tofukuji Temple.The garden in front of the hojo is a pond-style dry landscape garden by Mirei Shigemori.
The garden, named after the temple’s name Koumyo, consists of white sand, green moss, and three stone arrangements in three places, and was named “Hashin-no-niwa.
Clouds are represented by azaleas and azaleas. The tea pavilion “Luogetsuan” represents the moon rising from the eastern sky.Koumyouin is beautiful in the season of fresh green when the moss becomes bright green, and is also known as “rainbow moss dela.
