Oharano Shrine

The Oharano Shrine(大原野神社) is said to have originated as a shrine that was originally built as a branch of the Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara, Japan.

Along the approach to the temple is the Koisawa Pond, said to be modeled after the Sarusawa Pond in Nara.The Senganzakura cherry blossom near Koisawa Pond is said to be a phantom cherry blossom that can only be seen for a few days.

To get to Oharano Shrine from Kyoto Station, ride from JR Kyoto Station to Mukomachi Station (approx. 8 minutes), from JR Mukomachi Station bus stop to Minami Kasuga-cho bus stop (approx. 25 minutes), and walk approx. 10 minutes from the bus stop.
