Kyoto Rakusai Bamboo Park(京都市洛西竹林公園) is a strolling garden opened in Rakusai, a famous producer of Kyoto bamboo shoots (kyo yasai).The Bamboo Museum explains the ecology of bamboo and displays and sells handicrafts.
In the ecological garden of the strolling garden, about 110 species of bamboo and bamboo grass are planted, and the bamboo paths are nice.It is a hole-in-the-wall spot with free admission. Cherry blossoms can be seen in spring.
The Nishinooka Bamboo Forest Road (the bamboo forest is selected as one of the Kyoto Nature 200) is also well maintained with bamboo trees and has a Kyoto-like atmosphere.If you want to take img-responsiveures of bamboo groves, there are fewer tourists than Arashiyama.
To get to Kyoto Rakusai Bamboo Park, take the bus or walk (about 25 minutes) from Hankyu Rakusiguchi Station. Bicycle rentals are available near the station.
