Okazaki Shrine(岡崎神社) was called “East Heavenly King” because of its location to the east of the capital.
The shrine was praised as a god of prayer for easy childbirth. Since a fertile rabbit is the guardian deity, the shrine is widely believed to be a shrine of matchmaking, safe childbirth, and child rearing.
Cute rabbit “marriage charms” and “rabbit charms” are available at the shrine office.
Access from Kyoto Station to Okazaki Shrine takes about 27 minutes by bus.
