Oyamazaki Sanso Museum(大山崎山荘美術館) is operated by the Asahi Group Arts Foundation.
It consists of three buildings (the main building (designed by Shotaro Kaga), the Chichu-kan (designed by Tadao Ando), and the Yamate-kan (designed by Tadao Ando), and a garden (cherry blossoms in spring, water lilies in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and camellias in winter).
Chichu-kan (Underground Jewel Box) exhibits Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies.Backpacks and carry-on bags are not allowed in the museum, so leave them in the lockers at the rest house.On the second floor of the main building, there is a coffee room with a terrace where you can drink coffee and even beer.
The Oyamazaki Sanso Museum is conveniently accessible by train (JR Yamazaki Station / Hankyu Oyamazaki Station). It is a 10-minute walk from the nearest station, but it is an uphill walk.Free shuttle bus service is available from the nearest station (priority is given to senior citizens).
