Shokado Garden Art Museum(松花堂庭園) is a famous garden in Rakunan(South Area) that can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons.
The site covers an area of about 22,000 m2, where you can see the “Shokado” hermitage tea house, three other tea rooms, about 40 species of bamboos and bamboo, and about 200 species of camellias.
In 1891, Shokado Shoujyo’s (a priest of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine) Senbou Shoin and tea house Shokado were relocated from Otokoyama.
The Shokado bento was named after Shokado-Shojo(Monk and cultural figure of the Edo period), a Japanese word meaning “Shokado” in Japanese, which was inspired by Kitcho’s founder Teiichi Yugi’s idea of using a tanoza tray to create a bento box with an assortment of seasonal delicacies.
