Zuishinin(随心院) is dedicated to the seated image of Nyoirin Kannon.Famous for its association with Ono no Komachi.Ono no Komachi was a female poet of the early Heian period, around the 9th century. She is known through numerous anecdotes as a woman of immense beauty.
Zuishinin is the legendary place where Fukukusa no Shosho came to see Ono Komachi for 99 days.On the last Sunday of March, “Hanezu Odori” is held, in which girls dressed as Ono Komachi and Fukukusa no Shosho dance.
Zuishinin is also known for its plum blossoms, and the Ono Plum Garden, with approximately 230 plum trees in full bloom, is also known as “Hanezu no Ume.
To get to Zuishinin from Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto Municipal Subway for about 23 minutes (not including transfer time) and walk about 5 minutes from Ono Station.
