Muko Shrine(向日神社) is dedicated to Mukojin, the god of fire and lightning, Tamayohime-no-mikoto, and Emperor Jinmu.The main hall of Meiji Shrine was modeled after the main hall of Muko Shrine.
There is a preaching stone on the south side of the torii gate.It is said to be the stone on which Nichizo stood when he preached to passersby along the Saigoku Highway.
The path of sakura and momiji leading from the torii gate to the Bugakuden and the main shrine is beautiful.The Muko City Astronomy Museum is located next door to the south and has a planetarium room (capacity 80 people).
Access to Muko Shrine is a 15-minute walk from Hankyu Nishimukoji Station.
