Saiinkasuga Shrine(西院春日神社) was originally founded when a spirit was received from Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara.
There is also a shrine called Modoroki Shrine, which offers blessings for travel safety and traffic safety.
On January 7, the Wakana Festival is held to pray for good health by eating rice gruel with the seven herbs (Wakana porridge).On the second Saturday and the following Sunday in October, the Kasuga Festival is held to pray for good health and a bountiful harvest.
To get to Saiinkasuga Shrine from Kyoto Station, take a 15-minute bus ride and an approximately 5-minute walk from the Nishioji-Shijo bus stop.
