Agata Shrine(縣神社) is a shrine that offers blessings for good marriages, safe childbirth, prosperous business, and family safety.There is an Agatai well, which was written in a poem, and a large muku tree that is over 500 years old.

The Agata Festival, held from June 5 to early morning of June 6, is famous.As many as 500 stalls are set up and 100,000 people visit the festival.It is also called the “Strange Festival of Darkness” because the “Bonten Togyo” is held at midnight.

On June 8, the Oharae Ritual is an ancient Japanese festival with strong aristocratic or folkloric tendencies, in which Oharae are floated down the Uji River.On November 5, a tea offering ceremony will be held.
